The Making of Baby Mouse

I wanted to show pictures of how Baby Mouse was created so that others can see. Baby Mouse started from just a few supplies found around the house...
Here is the unveiling of the Making of Baby Mouse:
First I shaped her with the help of my mom. We have to use a jig saw, drill, and wire cutters, I really need help using these tools!
After we created the shape of her body we began to cover Baby Mouse with strips. These strips are really messy so I had to work on newspaper.
She really started to look good after the strips were dry. We began to paint her after she dried overnight.
I used acrylic paints to paint Baby Mouse and I only had to use 3 colors (black, white, and pink). Of course the grey was black and white mixed together. I also got my mom to paint shiny acrylic on at the end. She says it will protect Baby Mouse for many years and I like the way it shines. I got to put the sculpture on a Lazy Susan??
My mom had bought an inexpensive one at the thrift store that she let me use...so Baby Mouse rotates! I thought this was a cool feature so you can see her all the way around.
I created Baby Mouse for a school summer reading project. I read the first two Baby Mouse books and decided to make her into ART! She will be displayed in my school for the other kids to see.
